Here it is, the new Honda Odyssey. Let me restate that the previous generation, especially in Absolute guise, is one of my favorite automotive designs of all time. It would have taken a lot to surpass, or even match, it, so I suppose I’m not too bummed out about the new look. As I have noted before, Honda seems determined to put that pelican mouth grille on all its new models, and it really doesn’t befit the sleek look of the Odyssey. (more…)

The bigger, plusher (ie, less sporty) car we know as the Acura TSX comes to Japan as the Honda Accord, accompanied by a wagon version we don’t get. There’s not much to say about it, except that Hondas continue to grow farther and farther from their sporting roots. There’s an onslaught of Subaru special edition cars coming out this month in celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary. This one’s the Subaru Legacy Advantage Line, available on the Touring Wagon 2.0i and B4 2.0i sedan. Special equipment list after the jump. (more…)

Another day, another special edition. This time it’s the Toyota Wish X Aero Sports Package, which takes the base wagon and adds projector beam headlights, fog lamps, convenience lights, infrared filtering windshield, deodorizing pollen removal air filter and some leather accouterments. It goes on sale June 24.

The new Subaru seven-seater touring wagon goes on sale today. The emphasis is on touring, with features like a panoramic roof, second row seats that slide forward and backward independent of each other, and a reclining third row.
Engine options are a base naturally aspirated 2.0L producing 146hp and 191lb-ft mated to a 4AT. Both 2WD and 4WD versions are available, but of course what you really care about is the top-of-the-line 2.0GT. (more…)
Mazda has launched a new minisite called Atenza DesignTalk, where those involved in the recently released sedan discuss the project. Buried among the pages is this cryptic image, which seems to allege that the Atenza Wagon and FD RX-7 shares some design cues. Huh? Like the rest of the site, the explanation’s in Japanese so hopefully someone will come along and explain it to me.
