Subaru Impreza Anesis Debuts in Japan

It sounds like a disease, but Anesis now means “sedan” in Subaru-speak. When the third-generation Impreza debuted at the NY Auto Show in 2007, the sedan version was not meant for the JDM market. It’s available in North America, Singapore, Russia and Israel, but it hasn’t sold well in the US so maybe now Subaru is trying to recoup their losses in Japan.

Engine options are DOHC 1.5L and SOHC 2.0L 16-valve boxer fours, mated to 5MTs or 4ATs in both 2WD and AWD form.
