Honda OSM Unveiled in London

Honda wants you to know that the new Open Study Model concept, unveiled today at the London Motor Show, is merely a design study and not intended for production as the next S2000 or otherwise. The low-emissions OSM shares the stands with the FCX Clarity and CR-Z, showing that green cars can be fun too.

The OSM’s front view is definitely it’s strongest point. However, that sloping hood is revealed to be quite short in profile, definitely unlike the S2000’s long, F20C-housing nose. In fact, the cabin takes occupies much of the overall length, giving you an idea of how small a car this is.

The taillight ribbon looks odd from this angle, drooping like a wet-spaghetti.

The semi-sequential gearbox is also very un-S2000-like and it appears Honda is taking the Civic’s double-decker instrument pod to more models.
