Suzuki Wagon R Limited Commemorates 5 Years at #1
On June 4, Suzuki released limited editions of its Wagon R and Wagon R Stingray kei cars. Ever since the third generation was released in 2003, the Wagon R has been the top selling kei car for 5 consecutive years, having sold 3 million since its introduction in 1993. What makes the Wagon R such a microcar phenomenon?
The Wagon R was one of the first kei cars to combine a low floor with a towering roofline to maximize the cabin space while keeping within the footprint mandated by kei car regs. While a common design theme for kei cars nowadays, it was still rather rare back in the early 90s. Throw in a continent-wide decade-long financial crisis, and buyers flocked to the Wagon R and its numerous variations throughout the years.
Well now add another one to the tally. Here’s a list of features found on the Wagon R Limited and Wagon R Stingray Limited:

- Mesh style instrument panel
- Black chrome bezels and a/c louvers
- “Black sand” door armrests
- Automatic climate control with antibacterial filters

- Body color choice of white, black, dark blue and purple
In addition the Wagon R Stingray has the following:

- Silver stitched leather steering wheel
